Departure:
The tour will taken by one of our bilingual escorts. The travel will be conducted utilizing the public transportation system, buses, taxis and a domestic airline. Even though you do not need to be an athlete we must insist that participants are of an acceptable level of fitness.

Day 1
SYDNEY/TOKYO

Depart Sydney (interstate passengers will need to take connecting flights to Sydney) and arrive in the early evening at Narita Airport. Upon arrival at Narita airport you will meet your escort and transfer to the Palace Hotel Tokyo.


Day 2
TOKYO
After breakfast enjoy the morning seeing the sights of Tokyo, Imperial Palace area, Asakusa temple[1] and the Nakamise[2] shopping area, lunch, then on to Roppongi[3] for an amazing view of Tokyo from the Observation deck. This is also a popular shopping area. Return to the Palace hotel, rest of the day free.

Day 3
TOKYO

Day free to explore, suggestion is to visit the nearby Imperial Palace East gardens or if you have any special requests your guide is there to assist. Prepare an overnight bag.


Day 4
NIKKO

After breakfast, enjoy a day tour of Nikko National Park, Lake Chuzenji[4], the Kegon Falls[5] and the world heritage listed Toshogu shrine[6].
Stay at the Senhime Monogatari Nikko, a deluxe ryokan including dinner and breakfast.


Day 5
KYOTO
After breakfast with your guide make your way to Kyoto and the Granvia Hotel. Evening explore the Gion area with your guide (famous for sighting Geisha and Maiko).

Day 6
KYOTO

Day tour of Kyoto, visiting the Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion)[7], Ryoanji[8] (famous for its stone garden), Heian shrine[9] and Nanzenji temple, considered to be one of Japan's most important Zen temples, then lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant.
Rest of the afternoon free.


Day 7
KYOTO
Day free to explore Kyoto on your own or with your guide

Day 8
HIROSHIMA
After breakfast. Leave Kyoto and travel to the famous city of Hiroshima by Shinkansen (bullet train)[10]. Make your way to Miyajima Island and after checking your luggage into your ryokan visit the sights of Miyajima with your guide, a lovely island which is considered to be one of Japan's 3 most beautiful spots. Miyajima is home to the famous Torii[11] standing in the sea and Itsukushima shrine[12]. Tonight you will be staying at the Iwaso Ryokan, a deluxe ryokan with dinner and breakfast.

Day 9
TOKUSHIMA

After breakfast make your way to Hiroshima city to explore Peace Park[13] and the A-Bomb Dome[14]. In the afternoon make your way to Tokushima with your guide. Visit the Ritsurin Gardens before making your way to Tokushima.
Accommodation is the Hotel Clement Tokushima. In the evening enjoy a performance of the Awa dance[15].


Day 10
TOKUSHIMA

After breakfast enjoy the day visiting the Otsuka Art Gallery[16] and the Naruto Whirlpools[17].
Return to Tokushima and the rest of the day free.


Day 11
NARITA

After breakfast transfer to the airport and fly to Tokyo, transfer to Narita and the Marroad International Hotel. Enjoy a farewell dinner.


Day 12
NARITA/SYDNEY

Breakfast and then morning tour of Narita Township(Narita Shinshoji temple[18]), home of Narita temple. Stroll the gardens and leisurely visit the shops in the traditional street. Afternoon pick up your luggage from the Marroad International Hotel and make your way to Narita airport with your guide for your home flight.


Day 13
SYDNEY

Arrive into Sydney in the morning. Interstate passengers catch their respective flights.
